More Stupidity from the Culture of Life!

From First Draft

“Phyllis Schlafly, doyenne of American conservatism, said Kennedy’s opinion forbidding capital punishment for juveniles “is a good ground of impeachment.” To cheers and applause from those gathered at a downtown Marriott for a conference on “Confronting the Judicial War on Faith,” Schlafly said that Kennedy had not met the “good behavior” requirement for office and that “Congress ought to talk about impeachment.””

So, apparently the “Culture of Life” believes in executing minors and wants to impeach a supreme court justice who has a little bit of humanity!

Also from the same site (and via the Washington Post) this:

“The pharmacist who refuses emergency contraception is not just following his moral code, he’s trumping the moral beliefs of the doctor and the patient. “If you open the door to this, I don’t see any place to draw a line,” says Anita Allen, law professor at the University of Pennsylvania and author of “The New Ethics.”” (from an Ellen Goodman column)

and this:

“The point Goodman is making here is one that I haven’t seen made very often, and I think it is one of the most important points about this. No one is trying to force women who have objections to birth control and abortion to take birth control or have an abortion. No one has ever tried to force these things on anyone in this country. (emphasis mine- afarensis) But the converse is not true – those who oppose women’s reproductive freedom are doing everything they can to force a matter of their personal consciences onto everyone else. (from Tena at First Draft)”

Yup! The “Culture of Life” a walking oxymoronic contradiction wrapped in hypocrisy!
