Northstate Science on the Hadzabe

Chris O’Brien has an interesting post on the Hadzabe. In case you missed the news, over 2,500 sqaure miles of land used by the Hadzabe is being turned over to United Arab Emirates royal family for their use as a private hunting reserve…

  1. Sounds like a plot for a Grade B Jungle movie. Sadly, that is not the case and another wild tribe bites the dust (or is in the process of biting the dust).

  2. I THINK WE (CIVILIZED WORLD) SHOULD ALLOW PRESERVATION OF ANCIENT TRIBES. PERHAPS WE COULD ONLY STUDY THEM FROM AFAR, AS DID JANE GOODALL WITH THE GORILLAS. WHY SNUFF THEM OUT? WE PRESERVE AREAS FOR BIRDS AND OTHER WILDLIFE. MAKE THEIR AREA – HOWEVER HOW LARGE IT MIGHT BE – A WORLD PRESERVE AND ALLOW THEM THEIR TRADITIONS.
